A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO OUR CUSTOMERS
To all of our dear customers and friends,
In 2012 we are celebrating our 20th year in business. We are very proud that, in so many
ways, Cen-Med Enterprises is a great American success story. In 1992, we began as a home-based
medical and laboratory distribution business from a Brooklyn residence.
Started by Shakila Chaudhry, and later joined by her husband, Khalid Chaudhry, Cen-Med
began distributing equipment and laboratory supplies to labs throughout New York. The family
mini-van was the delivery van and it doubled as the family vehicle after hours. Soon the children
were enlisted as volunteers after school, on weekends, and during summer vacations. Now, two
sons, Rizwan and Umer Chaudhry are an integral part of the daily operations at Cen-Med.
“From the beginning, our main objective always focused on customer service. We were told
this differentiated us and so we maintained our focus over the years,” says Shakila Chaudhry. “Our
willingness to service our customers, including late night and weekend deliveries, helped us gain
more lab and hospital accounts.”
Soon enough, the little place in Brooklyn became too little and after moving to New Jersey,
Cen-Med moved into a office and warehouse in East Brunswick, which remained their primary
location for over 12 years. “From this warehouse, we expanded to servicing not only laboratories
and hospitals, but physician offices, industrial facilities, government entities, medical surgical centers,
and beyond”, recalls Rizwan Chaudhry, now Vice President of Sales.
By 2010, again realizing that Cen-Med’s growth required more space, the entire operations
and distribution was shifted to New Brunswick, NJ, a location conveniently located near both New
York City and two of the premier hospitals in New Jersey.
John Inzero, head of the marketing department at Cen-Med Enterprises, adds “As a womanowned
minority business that started as small two person operation, we are honored to have been
named by INC. Magazine as one of the fastest growing healthcare companies in the country. We
take pride in our diverse work force, all of whom have become like part of the family.” He also
emphasizes, “Most importantly, the people at Cen-Med do not forget that all of their success is
because of its customers, whom we prefer to call our friends. We thank you for your loyalty and for
